" Residents of northern Grand Bahama island and the Abaco Islands have been forced to make very elemental decisions in the wake of Dorian, the most powerful hurricane on record to hit the Bahamas.

The storm swept through the islands earlier this week, levelling neighbourhoods and knocking out key infrastructure. Hundreds, if not more, are still missing in the country of about 400,000 people, and officials say the death toll, which stands at 43, is likely to shoot up as more bodies are discovered in the ruins and floodwaters left behind by the storm."
